Nominations for the Women in Finance Awards 2019 London are now CLOSED

Deadline for nominations is 5 April. 

The judges convene two weeks before the awards ceremony to review all of the finalists’ nominations. They will decide the winners based on the written submissions, so try to include as much information as possible.

Please use the criteria (listed below) of the category you wish to enter to shape your written submission, as the judges will refer to each criteria to guide their decisions. Each written submission should be at least 400 words and a maximum of 600 words. There is no cost to nominate and you can enter as many categories as you wish.

If you are shortlisted for Women in Finance you will be invited to attend the gala event and will need to purchase a ticket to attend. This is not mandatory and attendance does NOT affect your chances of winning an award.

ACCOUNTANT OF THE YEAR

An accountant professional who has consistently met or exceeded challenging objectives to ensure the highest quality of provision of accountancy and related services. The award is based on achievements made in the period 1 January 2018 – 1 January 2019.

ADVOCATE OF THE YEAR

The organisation or person regardless of gender, that has gone out of its/her/his way to support the cause of getting more female representation in senior levels and stamping out barriers to growth for women in financial services.

AMBASSADOR OF THE YEAR

This category celebrates the individual who has achieved a long-term impact on the way people and organisations think about and practice gender diversity. The Ambassador of the Year will be a prominent person in business and/or financial services who publicly champions gender parity in the sector. The Ambassador of the Year is ambitious, bold, daring, charismatic, and unabashedly dedicated towards encouraging women in the sector to grow.

BANKER OF THE YEAR

The most influential and inspirational woman in banking, who has overseen strong financial performance  and successfully guided the bank in best business practices, expansion into new markets, or innovation in terms of new products or services. The award is based on achievements made in the period 1 January 2018 – 1 January 2019.

DISRUPTOR OF THE YEAR

An individual who has reinvigorated gender diversity in the financial services industry by providing new and innovative ways to improve the gender balance in the sector across levels.

DIVERSITY INITIATIVE OF THE YEAR

This category focuses on a specific diversity initiative or project that has been established to promote diversity in finance: in a specific company or for the wider community. Judges will assess the impact of this project and how successful it has been – based on tangible results – in closing the gender gap and promoting diversity in finance.

The company that has proactively cultivated an inclusive and diverse workforce, aiming to achieve equal gender representation at all levels.

FINANCE TEAM OF THE YEAR (LEAD BY A WOMAN)

A finance team, led by a woman, that has delivered real value – with tangible business results – to a company. Judges will look at projects and achievements, along with examples of best practice, leadership, ROI generated and alignment to business goals. The award is based on achievements made in the period 1 January 2018 – 1 January 2019.

FINANCIAL ADVISOR OF THE YEAR

This award recognises the standout financial adviser who has achieved outstanding returns while championing financial inclusivity. The award is based on achievements made in the period 1 January 2018 – 1 January 2019.

FINTECH CHAMPION OF THE YEAR (BANKING)

The most innovative and agile woman in a leadership role within a fintech company for banking.

FINTECH CHAMPION OF THE YEAR (FUNDING)

The most innovative and agile woman in a leadership role within a fintech company for funding.

FINTECH CHAMPION OF THE YEAR (OPEN INNOVATION)

The most innovative and agile woman in a leadership role within a fintech company for open innovation.

FUND MANAGER OF THE YEAR

This award recognises the fund manager that has outperformed peers in her field, with a proven aptitude for effective stock selection and an understanding and anticipation of market patterns. The award is based on achievements made in the period 1 January 2018 – 1 January 2019.

INSURANCE LEADER OF THE YEAR

RISING STAR OF THE YEAR

The best and brightest woman in the first five years of working within the financial services industry. Judges will be looking for nominees who have a unique and inspiring story to tell.

SPECIALIST INVESTOR OF THE YEAR

The leading investor in private equity, venture capital, business angel or investing institution. The winner of this award will be a role model for women in a wide range of disciplines. The award is based on achievements made in the period 1 January 2018 – 1 January 2019.
